Arctic Monkeys' third album might be more aggressive after news that The Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme will handle the production has emerged.

Homme announced on BBC 6 Music that the Sheffield group will travel to California's desert to record the follow-up to 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' from 2007.

“Being Arctic Monkeys, the polar opposite would be Desert Monkeys, so they’re gonna come out and just experience that, and their idea is to submerge themselves in something else and do some tracks," Homme said in the interview.

"They’re a talented bunch of guys, its gonna be a lot of fun. We’re gonna do some tracks and I’m really looking forward to it, cos I like them a lot.”
