Manchester indie-rockers Oasis have chosen not to perform at The O2 in London because of its corporate image. Noel Gallagher told the BBC that after attending the Led Zeppelin gig at the venue, he realised it wasn't "rock 'n' roll" enough for them. He said it was "too Americanised" and even referred to it as the "most soul destroying venue I've ever been too". It had previously been reported that Oasis were set to announce a ten-show residency at The O2. The band have instead booked their two London shows in October with Wembley Arena. They will perform at the north London venue on October 16 and 17 as part of their month-long UK tour. |
