Coldplay Tour Delayed

Production delays have been blamed for Coldplay's decision to postpone the start of their North American tour. An apologetic but slightly mysterious statement on their website says: "The band have experienced some production delays which mean that the show simply wont be ready for June 29. It's very frustrating but they promise you a show worthy of your patience and understanding when they start in mid-July." The first US performance will now be on 14 July in Los Angeles and the tour will conclude in Boston on 4 August. Speculation as to what the problems actually are is rife in the music industry. Tickets will still be valid for the revised shows but refunds will be available if fans are unable to attend the new dates. Visit www.coldplay.com to see the full list of gig details. At this stage, the UK leg of the tour in December is unaffected by the delays. Coldplay's new album Viva La Vida will be released tomorrow (June 12).
