Top Artists Make Video Tutorials

 

Fans wanting to play like their musical idols will soon be able to learn directly from the artists themselves with the launch of a set of 'How To' video tutorials.

Musicians from bands such as Blur, Coldplay, Supergrass, KT Tunstall and Turin Brakes have already signed up and Paul Weller, Bloc Party and The Stereophonics are currently finalising deals.

Play It launches next month and offers video tutorials in two versions to buy and download.

The longer (15 – 40 minutes), more expensive version includes musicians talking through how to play their song along with anecdotes about it and, for example, equipment used. There is then a recap and the song's video is played with chord boxes overlain for the budding musicians to follow.

The 'Lite' version merely contains the music video with chord boxes.

Play It will have over 300 tutorials available at launch and aim to provide more than 3,000 by the end of the first year, covering guitar, bass, drums and keyboards.
