With the 2009 festival season just around the corner, luvmuzik takes a look at the Latitude Festival, which is now in its fourth year and will take place from July 16 to 19 in Suffolk.
This year's festival will see the likes of The Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Nick Cave, Editors and Doves gracing the Obelisk Arena main stage. However, we will be looking at some of the 'lesser' known artists playing during the three-day event.
First up is Irish band The Chakras, who will be opening the Obelisk Arena on Saturday afternoon. Inspired by the early nineties psychedelic noises offered up by My Bloody Valentine and The Verve, The Chakras have an ethereal sound with soaring melodies and a pounding rhythm section. They are currently writing new material for their debut album, which is due out later this year.
Lead singer Rocky speaks about why he's excited to play at Latitude this year.
1. Who are you most looking forward to seeing at this year’s Latitude festival across the Arenas (Obelisk, Uncut, Comedy, Theatre, Literary and Poetry, Film & Music) and why?
Saw Nick Cave in Dublin Castle and was ridiculously impressed with the performance, he’s not a small man, really looking forward to Spiritualised, Editors and Doves as well but probably looking forward most to wandering around and finding new bands.

Place to find interesting new music and sure you know I love the camping.
3. What can people expect you to bring to the festival and do you have anything special planned?
I’ll probably bring some fine wine from Aldi and maybe a bit of sunshine if I’m arsed.
4. If you weren't doing this what would you be doing?
Fisherman in deadliest catch or maybe I’d bring people diving in cages to see Great Whites.
5. What do you always bring to a festival?
Yokes
