Wales has a strange pedigree in producing sound-a-likes of American hard rock and nu-metal bands and Attack! Attack! seem to continue this fashion. It is straight up, fast-paced emo rock with thrashed guitar and low-end bass accompanied by pained, partially screamed, lyrics all the way through, following the pattern well-worn by compatriots Lostprophets (Lostprophet’s Stuart Richardson, in fact, produced the record) and Funeral for a Friend. It's unoriginal (emo-by-numbers) and is certainly not going to win over anyone who isn't already a fan of the Welsh arm of American angst-rock, but it's not dislikeable and so at the same time isn't going to disappoint anyone with an interest in the aforementioned associated acts.
