This second track from Stockholm-based singer-songwriter Lykke Li is sure to get stuck in a few heads in the near future. The previously released ‘Little Bit’ was a ‘nice’ song but a little slow, repetitive and dominated by percussion and a breathy vocal. In this latest single, the Swedish songstress retains her sweetness (it’s hard not to with that infectious little accent) but the song sounds more mature, both musically and vocally.

The slightly distorted electronic-vocal intro with heavy keyboard sounds brought in is catchy and intriguing. Li’s voice then chimes in with confidence and a decent pinch of attitude. There’s also a gorgeous piano flutter after the chorus. Overall, ‘I’m Good I’m Gone’ is less sugar-coated pop and more pop with depth, which is definitely step in the right direction. 7/10
